Headed down I 24 to Normandy and Bedford Lakes.
Found 5 Cackling Geese mixed in with Canada's at Bedford Lake along with a
nice group of ducks, N. Pintail, Canvasback, Redhead. Ring-necked, Lesser
Scuap, Black, Mallard, Gadwall, N. Shovelers, Buffleheads, and Hooded
Mergs. Called Roy and Melissa Turrentine, they showed up a few minutes
later to get the Cacklings. Lifers for them. We headed over to Normandy
Lake and gad Hooded Mergs, 124 Horned Grebes, some pied-billed grebes. I
had a Bald Eagle earlier in the day along with two C. Loons. Nice afternoon
birding. Always great to get friends on a lifer.
