We had great success listening for nightjars at the second overlook along
the west portion of the Foothills Parkway last night (Blount County, 22 May
2021).

Across one hour, we heard at least five Eastern Whip-poor-will and two
Chuck-will's-widow, with the first chuck calling around 20:35. Full eBird
report below, including link to audio we captured of both species. Both
were life birds for our five-year-old. [image: 🙂]

We've been hearing nightjars at this location for 10+ years, but it had
been a long while since we'd been back.

Good birding,

Angela Hoffman, Seth McConchie, and Nathaniel
