Please join the Nashville Chapter of the TN Ornithological Society (NTOS) for
our monthly meeting this coming Thursday, April 18, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the
Radnor Lake State Park Visitor’s Center, 1160 Otter Creek Road.
NTOS President Cyndi Routledge will take us on a photographic tour of some of
the hummingbirds she encountered while in the Choco-Andes region of Ecuador in
June of 2023. We’ll learn why Ecuador is so unique and well suited for a wide
variety of hummingbirds, hear some interesting facts about these very special
birds and perhaps a tale or two about her time in the country.
Ecuador is considered to be one of the most diverse places on earth and with
that diversity comes the astonishing fact of being the country who hosts the
most hummingbird species in all the Americas – 132 hummingbirds to be exact;
which is over 40% of all hummingbird species on the earth.
As always, the public is welcome. NTOS membership is not required. We hope to
see you there.
