Tn. NWR
Duck River Unit
Humphreys County

Sixteen birders took park in today's trip to the Duck River
Unit. Our first stop, the pump house on the Tennessee River,
gave us good looks at 50 or 60 Am. White Pelicans and Caspian
and Black Terns. Several mud areas along the main road had fair
numbers of shorebirds. We all enjoyed scope looks at five swallow
species from one location. As we were leaving an immature Bald
Eagle gave us a close fly-by. Another pleasant day to be birding
in Tennessee.

Talk and walk softly, carry a big
scope.
