Yesterday at about 1:00 pm I observed a single adult Mississippi Kite
soaring in the vicinity of mile marker 1 on Highway 840 (very near the
intersection of I-40 and 840). The bird was kiting quite low, just to the
north of 840. I think this places the bird in Dickson County.
I do not know if this is an unusual sighting for this area, but I thought
it might be of some significance. (And I just love watching Mississippi
Kites in the air!)
