8-9:30 am
North Boundary Trail
Lower East Fork Poplar Creek section
Oak Ridge Reservation

Sunday, I walked 1 1/2 miles on North Boundary Trail and found many of
the usual resident migrants singing on territory. Wood Thrush,
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO, BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA,
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, PRAIRIE WARBLER, KENTUCKY WARBLER, HOODED
WARBLER, YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, and SCARLET TANAGER were present and
accounted for.
A few usual species were absent but are PERHAPS LATE:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Acadian Flycatcher, Great
Crested Flycatcher.
Others seemed to still be in LOW NUMBERS, BUT MANY MAY HAVE YET
TO ARRIVE: Wood Thrush, Yellow-breasted Chat, Yellow-throated Warbler
Still others seem to me in UNUSUALLY HIGH numbers: Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, Red-eyed Vireo, Northern Parula.
Complete list for day below (NOTE: Probably NONE of these are
transitory migrants but all are regular nesters in the area--[except of
course Yellow-rumps and White-thr. Sparrows[):
