This morning (Oct 20, 2006) there were a couple of birds at my place (W. Lewis County) that seemed kinda late to me: Eastern Wood-Pewee and Common Yellowthroat. Both species have been absent or nearly so for the last week or two; unexpected for them to reappear on such a chilly morning. Otherwise, a Tennessee Warbler and Orange-crowned Warbler joined the abundant Yellow-rumped Warblers, a few Indigo Buntings and numerous Rose-breasted Grosbeaks remain in the weeds and thickets, and yet another Lincoln's Sparrow turned up amongst the Swamp and Song Sparrows. Elsewhere in the County -- Shane Newbold told me of a Cattle Egret near Kimmins on Oct 18th; I didn't find it when I looked the next day.
