Victor and I helped with the Big Sandy CBC today, hitting several places
around Kentucky Lake. The count hasn't been totalled up yet, but here are a
few highlights from our route.
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, 1 early at Pace Point
SURF SCOTER, 1 at Pace Point in the morning, 5 at Paris Landing State
Park at Roost time.
RED-THROATED LOON, 1 adult at Lick Creek WMA (Benton County) one adult
at Trailer Road, one immature at Port Road Overlook. (3 total)
GLAUCOUS GULL, 1 immature bird first seen from Trailer Road at 2:30 p.m.
then seen on every subsequent stop around the lake until dusk at Paris
Landing State Park. (With Herring Gulls on the island).
GRAY CATBIRD, one photographed near Lashlee Springs.
AMERICAN TREE-SPARROW, 2 at Britton Ford.
