David Trently of the Knoxville TOS will lead a field trip on Sunday, February 6, at 8:00 AM to Royal Blue WMA and Cove Lake. Either meet at the Ingles grocery store at 430 E.Emory Road north of Knovxille at 8:00AM or after 8:30 at the parking area for the field trip which is at GPS coordinates: N 36.36207 W 84.22568. This part of Royal Blue WMA is off I-75 Exit 141 (Oneida exit), on the east side of interstate, at the second major bend in Old Kentucky Road, heading southeast. The site has a marsh, a large pond that may have some waterfowl, mostly level dirt roads and plenty of wooded areas. After finishing this area, the group may want to check out some other areas of Royal Blue, as well as Cove Lake State Park on the way home.
