Warblers seen this past weekend on a North Knoxville ridge in
East Tennessee that we call home:

Chestnut-sided, Pine, and the neatest surprise of all, a
Black-throated Blue ! (A gorgeous male that landed briefly in
one of our Dogwoods, yard bird no. 75). Most interesting was a
brazenly bold first winter Black-throated green that got within
4 ft. of us, and wasn?t even spooked from a large van that
stopped right beside it to check mail. The van driver asked us
what we were looking at, we showed him and noted how special it
was to see such a bird up close, and his comment was? Is the
bird not fully grown yet ? (He owns a pair of parrots). And to
think of all the times we have endured warbler neck ...

Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery, Sunday afternoon 6 pm:

Highlights: 2 beautiful female Green-winged teals, Least
sandpiper, juvenile Black-crowned night heron, many Eastern
meadowlarks, 2 Belted kingfishers, and an Osprey deftly riding
the strong wind currents. Palm warblers were everywhere, we
flushed and saw at least 30, bobbing their tails to beat the
band.
