near VannTown Lincoln County Nashville, TN 2011 July 15 Phillip Casteel and I arrived just before 9 am on Friday morning and visited with the homeowner, who had NOT seen the HOODED ORIOLE this morning. We stayed until 11:30 am before returning to Nashville. The bird was not seen or heard. Homeowner said that on past days it was very skittish and would leave at the drop of a hat or the briefest motion. Although we missed the oriole we saw a pair of LOGGERHEAD SHRIKEs in the field across the road and a LARK SPARROW atop the tree line on the west side of the property. Thanks Damien.
