4/2/05 Henry Co. Hwy 140 north of McKenzie A little time spent checking some local areas on this windy day, produced very little of interest. Typically, early April you can get a new year bird on about any day in the field, but no new migrants for me today. All I had of interest was a flock of app. 40 American Golden-Plovers off of Hwy 140 north of McKenzie, in the Middle Fork Obion River bottom. These birds were quite distant, in a large wet field. I couldn't make out any smaller birds traveling with them, as they got up and flew around several times in the time that I watched them. Appeared to be all Goldens, with no Pectorals or other species mixed in. Good Birding!!
