Harpeth River Greenway Davidson Co. Bellevue, TN 2011 August 31 4:40-5:10 pm partly cloudy, very warm I stopped on my way home from work on Wednesday afternoon to see if there were any shorebirds at the Morton Mill Lake next to Harpeth River Greenway in Bellevue on the west side of Nashville. I'd tried several times in August with little luck this year. The habitat for shorebirds is degraded compared to some years ago but it is better than nothing. In addition to 8 KILLDEER, the usual residences, after a bit of searching I finally found a single SPOTTED and a single SOLITARY SANDPIPER searching for food. Also enjoying the lake was an immature DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT.
