[TN-Bird] Hardin County: W Phalarope, Stilt Sandpiper, Dunlin, Lark Sparrow...

The following is an abridged list of birds seen at Walker Branch State Natural 
Area in Hardin County, TN (south of Savannah, TN).  Direction and a map to 
Walker Branch can be found at:

Many of the fields within the natural area and just outside the natural area 
are flooded.  The numbers following shorebirds are the total seen at a flooded 
field in the natural area.  More shorebirds were seen just outside the boundary 
of the natural area.

 

1. Mississippi kite- 1

2. Killdeer

3. Semipalmated plover- 12

4. Dowitcher species- 1

5. Dunlin- 1

6. Wilson's phalarope- 5

7. Least sandpiper- 8

8. Pectoral sandpiper- 3

9. Stilt sandpiper- 1

10. Greater yellowlegs- 3

11. Lesser yellowlegs- at least 140

12. Lark sparrow- 1
