One thing I forgot to mention.
With the national threat level at "Orange", the folks at
TVA are definitely security minded. People can still
walk out along the earthen part of Cherokee Dam but
patrols are up and you should expect to be stopped and
questioned. Seeing all my equipment, the guard was a
bit suspicious and wasn't sure about my explanation ---
"Birds?" --- but then he noticed my Bluebird license plate
and that seemed to satisfy him a little bit.
