I went birding with Bob O'Dear quite a few times in TN, the US and Costa Rica and hearing of his passing comes as a great shock. Did he still reside in Nashville? Jeff R. Central Daylight Time Subj: [BIRDCHAT] Bob O'Dear I was inform today that Bob O'Dear past away in his home last Wednesday. Bob owned Observ Bird Tours for many years. Bob gave me a huge break a few years ago by asking me to lead his Colorado, Texas Big Bend / Fort Davis, Minnesota and Manitoba / Churchill field trips. I will always consider Bob the person who helped me branch out and organize field trips away from Duluth, Minnesota. If it wasn't for Bob I would of never gotten to bird places like Colorado, Texas and Churchill. The biggest award for me was that I was able to guide the last few trips for ObServ Tours before Bob retired and closed up shop. Other than ObServ Tours, I remember Bob being a huge hockey fan and a spiritual person who read his bible every night before going to bed. Bob was never shy in sharing his opinion on most topics but he always had a way to make you laugh as well. Thank You Bob for everything! I will miss you.
