Farragut, Knox County, TN 03/20/08 Re: Fox Sparrow While digiscoping
some birds across from "The Cove" park off of Northshore drive I found
several Fox Sparrows with some White-throated Sparrows. To see them take
Northshore Dr. about a mile past the Concord road roundabout heading west
andpull into the parking lot on your right just past the ball fields across
from the Cove park. In the brush along the leftside of the parking lot there
are plenty of sparrows in the brush along the tree line at the moment
underneath the pines. If you go through to the next parking lot for the boat
launch there is a heron rookery right across the inlet with several active
nests. In the Cove park itself is a good spot for Brown-headed Nuthatch and
Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Didn't see the Horned Grebes though.
Cheers
