[TN-Bird] Field Trip to Percy Priest Lake

Birders,
A day without sun isn't always bad.  Today eight birders made their way around 
several good birding spots on Percy Priest Lake enjoying  the good light on the 
partially frozen lake.  A total of 55 species were seen in temperatures that 
ranged from  35 degrees to 51 degrees.
Seen were:

N. Shoveler  90
Lesser Scaup   4
Bufflehead  28
Common Goldeneye  22
Hooded Merganzer   18
Ruddy Duck   9
Common Loon   116
Pied-bill Grebe   8

Great Blue Heron  7 *
Black Vulture   1
Sharp-shinned Hawk  1
Cooper's Hawk   2
Red-tailed Hawk   1
American Coot  290
Killdeer   5
Dunlin   1
Bonapart's Gull  64

*  A ways from the dam, there were nine Great Blue Heron nests with six Great 
Blues sitting on them.
