[TN-Bird] Loggerhead Shrikes and feeder failure

There's a loggerhead shrike that I see frequently on 663 (Schochoh Rd) in
Adairville, KY, just north of Springfield. I just love him and watch for him
every time I'm headed out. He likes to hang out about a mile from the
intersection of 663 and 431.
Imagine my surprise when today, gazing out my kitchen window, a loggerhead
shrike landed in the tree about 5 feet from my face! I was agog--loved seeing
him in better detail than ever before. He was just as handsome as you might
imagine.

I have a feeder on that tree, and, unlike every other feeder I've ever had, I
have very few takers here. Usually, the resident mocking bird chases everyone
off. I had a couple of sparrows today, but none while the shrike was here. I
can't figure out why I'm not attracting birds. Maybe the shrike is here more
than I know? Anyone have any ideas? I have lots and lots of bushes with
berries, so the birds may just prefer the berries to my offerings.
