For only the second time since late March, I was able to bird outside of my
Kirby Woods neighborhood for about 3 hours this morning on private property
near Williston, Tennessee, Fayette County. The following were my first of 2020
species encounters:

2 Summer Tanager
5 Scarlet Tanager
8 Wild Turkey
1 Ovenbird
1 Blue Grosbeak
2 Cerulean Warbler
1 Eastern Wood-Pewee

Total of 45 taxa reported on eBird.

Last night there was another massive movement of migrating songbirds over most
of the Central United States with a heavy concentration over the Central South
including West Tennessee.

I was surprised that I did not see a single Black-throated Green Warbler today
after encountering 8+ in Kirby Woods yesterday.

My wife, Carolyn, walked the Kirby Woods neighborhood this morning and saw her
first Mississippi Kite of the year. I have yet to see one, although I thought I
heard one yesterday.
