This morning at Radnor Lake several of us enjoyed our FOS Bay-breasted,
Magnolia and Chestnut-sided warblers.
Then this afternoon I went out to sit on my swing on the back patio and two
male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks came to the feeder just 15 feet away. They
were softly singing to each other. Then I saw a Wood Thrush in the hemlock
at the corner of my house, followed by a FOS Gray-cheeked Thrush on the
ground nearby. After that a gorgeous Hooded Warbler appeared in the cedar
20 feet in front of me, but only stayed for a couple seconds. Today is the
first day I've seen any of these birds in my yard this year. Yesterday a
Baltimore Oriole kept singing all afternoon in one of my huge tulip
poplars. I love this time of year!
