Eleven NTOS members enjoyed a beautiful morning at Ellington with a mixture
of resident birds, migrants passing through, and arriving winter species.
Blue Jays, Eastern Bluebirds, and Robins were in constant flux, flying this
way
and that. We started with a good flock of warblers at the Iris Garden
parking lot in the dim light, and ended with a very excited group of warblers
(Tennessee, Blackburnian, Magnolia, Yellow-rumped) at the other end of the
iris
garden in much better light that were chipping loudly. Other nice finds were
Blue-headed Vireo, House Wren, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Black-throated Green,
Palm, American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, Song Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, and
several Indigo Buntings.
