For all those requesting it, here are details and locations for the
Black-throated and Golden-crowned Sparrows present at this time in Tennessee.

Black-throated Sparrow:

Present in Elora TN, in Lincoln county since Nov. 30th. To reach the
Dennison Farm go north from Elora on Hwy 121 about 1.5 miles and turn left
(west)
on Red House Road. Go past the cemetery to the first road on the right
(north). This is Milner's Switch. It dead-ends at the Dennison Compound.
There
are also lots of signs directing people to the Dennison Farm. Please sign in
at entrance and follow signs to sparrow location. Do not go to far if the
road is wet but park at sign before low ditch. It is not necessary to tromp
through brush piles as the bird usually pops up to preen in the open. It also
gives a distinctive call note when feeding and occasionally has been heard
signing.

Golden-crowned Sparrow:

Covington TN in Tipton county. Present for some time before confirmed ID by
Keith Kunkel on DEC. 26. This bird is harder to come across as it sulks in a
brushy ravine but does feed occasionally under the feeder with White-throated
Sparrows. You must call before going to see this bird. Keith and Peggy
Kunkel have been gracious enough to allow birders to sit on their deck. Call:
(901) 475-3603
Good Birding !!!
