Blount Co.

During the IMBD count in Blount Co. I heard 2 singing Dickcissels and
observed one of them close to the road. The one seen was on Gravelly Hills
Rd at Chota Ln. There is a wire stretching diagonally across the corner over
the grass from which it sang. There is a "wide" spot on Chota where one can
pull off. Today, Jim Human reported that he saw this individual joined by
another. The second singer was far from the road farther south in the same
large field. This is a first I have heard of this species in this area, at
least during my 30+ years here.
