A full day in the field in Hamilton co. on September 25 produced 98 species: (Kevin Calhoon) Highlights included 5 species of vireos, 4 species of wrens and 16 species of warblers: Cravens House: Lots of warblers 1 male GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER 6 Bay-breasted Warblers 2 Nashville Warblers 2 PHILADELPHIA VIREO 1 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH Standifer Gap Marsh: - Marsh Wren - Northern Rough-winged Swallow Booker T Washington St Pk - Northern Waterthrush (at back gate) Riverwalk below Chickamuga Dam - Northern Waterthrush (below bridge at Olan Mills) - 1 Peregrine Falcon (railroad bridge) Riverport - 7 Bobolinks Brainerd Levee - 1 Virginia Rail - 2 Sora - 1 Sedge Wren At the Cravens House on September 20 16 species of warblers were seen including: 1male MOURNING WARBLER (was found (Dan Jacobson and Clyde Blum) west of the Iowa monument below Cravens House, was seen again at same location on 9/23 (Libby Wolfe, Mary Lynn Buttram)) 1 WILSONS WARBLER (CLyde Blum, Libby Wolfe) 1 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER ((Clyde Blum, Dan Jacobson) powerline cut north of lower parking lot) David Aborn banded a Nashville Warbler at a new mist netting station at Greenway Farms on September 25. The Soddy Mountain hawkwatch season is in full swing. On September 25 915 Broadwings were counted with 603 in one kettle! Also seen were 1 American Kestrel and 2 Sharp-shinned Hawks.
