Brainerd Levee, Chattanooga, TN, April 6, 2003 American Bittern: mile 1.0 from Shallowford Road, easy to see, at edge of water near base of levee, 50 ft from road, 8:30 to 10:30 am. Unfortunately two dogs came along and flushed it up, and it flew across the marsh.
