Bells Bend sod farms
Old Hickory Blvd
Davidson Co., TN
2014 Mar. 29

Despite the heavy rain at times, my first birding stop today was
the Bells Bend sod farms near the dead end of Old Hickory Blvd.
Phillip Casteel and Mike Smith were already there when I arrived
and had a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER in their scope. The plover was
beginning to come into breeding plumage. Also in the flooded wet
areas were several PECTORAL SANDPIPERs, 1 LEAST SANDPIPER, and
1 WILSON'S SNIPE. In the flooded field across the road, a single
SOLITARY SANDPIPER was feeding.
