Birded the Henry Hollow Loop Trail at Beaman Park both yesterday morning (Saturday) and this morning. Saturday: La. Waterthrush Worm-Eating Warbler Black & White Warbler Red-Eyed Vireo Scarlet Tanager Downy Woodpecker Ruby-Throated Hummingbird American Goldfinch Acadian Flycatcher Carolina Chickadee Northern Cardinal Brown Headed Cowbird Sunday: La. Waterthrush Worm-Eating Warbler Yellow Throated Vireo Red-Eyed Vireo Scarlet Tanager Downy Woodpecker Acadian Flycatcher White Breasted Nuthatch Carolina Wren Carolina Chickadee Northern Cardinal Brown Headed Cowbird Tufted Titmouse For those interested in seeing the worm-eating warblers, I got great looks at these birds both days. If you follow the loop trail by the creek, you will come to a bridge that cuts back over the creek towards the visitors center on the left. Stay on the loop trail (don't go over the bridge), and immediately the trail will do a switchback to start up the hill. I saw the worm-eating warblers both day right in that switch back and the next 40 or so yards starting up the hill. I saw the B&W warbler in the same area yesterday. The looks at the waterthrushes were also great. Four of them were "playing" together in the stream today and gave great looks. Many of the birds were feeding young - it's that time of the year. I saw all of the following feeding young - la. waterthrush, worm-eating warbler, downy woodpecker, white-breasted nuthatch. All of the young were out of the nest, but still very demanding/begging.
