Along the Cumberland River, Cheatham County TN The Bald Egle nest upstream from Cheatham dam is again active this year after going unused last year. Activity was reported earlier this week by Susan Hollyday and this afternoon two chicks were observed being tended and fed by both adults. The nest site can be viewed from the recreation trail . It is one mile toward the dam from the Chapmansboro Rd./Sycamore Embayment trailhead and is directly across the river from the "Eagle Pass" sign. Over the river a mixed flock of 80 swallows contained mostly Tree and Rough-wing with some Barn Swallows. A flock of 15 Savannah Sparrows was seen at a field edge near the Ashland City end trailhead.
