This evening, around 6:30 PM, I headed over to the "Woodcock grounds", right by the creek on my property. I brought along the camera and tripod this time. I got there and set up in a location where I was concealed pretty well, but not enough to where I couldn't see the bird. In the past, he would come a few minutes after I positioned myself. This time, however, I had to wait a good 10-15 minutes. He flew in to the same area as always, and I snapped a few pictures (pretty blurry because of the shutter speed). I enjoyed him for about 5 minutes, then I left after he had done a few flight displays. Still no sign of a female, but I'm still hoping!
