A few quick things:
1. Sixth grade science is sufficient to dispel the misconception that
CO2 is harmful to the environment in any way. Remember this? Humans
inhale oxygen, exhale carbon dioxide. Plants to the opposite. Nice little
cycle that was *created*.
2. If you haven't already, I highly recommend you read *The Unseen Hand*
by A.Ralph Epperson. The subtitle is "An Introduction to the
Conspiratorial View of History". It's excellent, and ought to be required
reading in every middle school and/or high school history class. I used to
hate history in school, thinking (foolishly) "who cares what happened
hundreds of years ago?" When I got older, I realized the wisdom of the
saying "those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it",
this is true of individuals, and nations. I learned more from reading that
book than I ever did in school. It's well written, thoroughly researched &
documented, complete with footnotes and index. It's long, but worth the
effort.
3. Another great book, much shorter, is *None Dare Call it Conspiracy*
by Gary Allen (1971). It also helps make sense of what is going on, and
will change the way you watch the news.
By the way, in the late 80s, I was a liberal and fell for the whole "global
warming"/save the planet charade, becoming what Vladimir Lenin termed a
"useful idiot" for the movement. When my younger daughter was born, I
began looking at things differently, became a conservative, and stopped
believing the climate change nonsense. (It also helped that I read
somewhere that a symposium of scientists were told that it's OK to lie
about the environment, if it gets people to change their behavior. That
got my attention, too.)
God created the earth, He will destroy it. We will not beat Him to it.
