I don't think it's the ONLY way to go. Most 2000 servers in production never get anywhere near 200 users. Now if you are running out of krnl memory hitting the RSL limit long before hard bottlenecks I would agree. But if not then you have lots of option. In addition what does this mean" because Windows 2000 TS can handle only 2GB of RAM " This is not true.... putting out statements like that mislead people. I've been using VMWare for two years and the VMWare GSX version 2.5 is pretty much stable. I suggest you run your Citrix Farm on top of Windows 2003 Terminal Services to maximize your Quad CPU's and 8GB of RAM. Cornelio N. Our first proof of concept is going to be under 100 users and I have 2 dell 6650's quad with 8GB. I also have 3 dell 6400's, quad with 8GB, for later. Our whole network is 1600 users. I am not familiar enough with vmware to support as of yet in my opinion. I can see after testing and finding out limitations,etc... can anyone give me examples of success/failures, application lags?
