If security isn't a big concern then Secure Gateway will probably work just fine. I have a client that is using Secure Gateway with a small number of users and it works fine for their needs. The Citrix documentation says that Secure Gateway does not scale well and for large number of users and recommends Access Gateway. Whether that is true or not I have not done a comparison on performance. _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Berny Stapleton Sent: Wednesday, September 30, 2009 6:43 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: latency of CSG vs AG I understand the code is 10 years old, the only thing for me is that I know it inside out and backwards, and the fact that it hasn't been heavily modified in that amount of time means to me that it's going to be pretty light and might run faster... All I am after is something to do protocol enforcement, this isn't going out over the internet and was thinking that the Access Gateway stuff might be a bit more bloated and therefore slower.... Berny 2009/9/30 Mike Semon <msemon@xxxxxxx> Citrix Secure Gateway is 10 yrs old technology and is essentially an ICA proxy. Access Gateway is a SSL/VPN appliance And should perform better and be more secure. I am going to be running both on dedicated hardware.. Any suggestions? Berny
