yes it is definitely still worth it, I am in a smaller shop and I find it
extremely valuable. It is funny to listen to the Citrix guys talk about a
medium sized installations of 40 servers. I only have four or five metaframe
servers (depending on the day) but I still learn a ton. I learn a lot about
general stuff too. Even though it is a Citrix only conference, other things
get covered along the way. I sat through a great session on wireless by Symbol
last year and IBM had a good presentation about blades that was enlightening.

Subject: [THIN] iForum vs. Other Techie Conferences

Hi all,

I work for a small company where I am the only tech who handles everything
(desktop support, Exchange admin , W2K migration, Citrix, etc.). I only
have the budget to attend training conferences about once per year. In the
past I have usually attended conferences like TechMentor from Microsoft
Certified Professional Magazine and Windows Connections from Windows & .NET
Magazine which are both very good, general purpose conferences covering
many topics (W2K3, IIS, SQL, certification, etc.). This fall we are
increasing our use of our Citrix platform to include a remote site rather
than just internally so I am looking seriously at attending iForum instead
of one of those other conferences. My main question is will the sessions
at iForum be valuable to a smaller site like ours and cover things like day
to day admin, etc. Based on the info on the iForum website there are a few
sessions like that but I am looking for feedback from folks like you who
have been there.

Thanks very much in advance for your feedback,

Kevin
