[THIN] Virtual PC

Has anyone tried running a CSG Server connecting to a MF server where both
are installed on separate Virtual PC's on the same box?
I'm not talking about this for production (that would be kinda stupid and
risky), but I'm busy educating myself, and don't really want to blow away my
main box, and can't afford to go and buy any more boxes (She who must be
obeyed would FREAK)
Can it be done?
Any tips/tricks/gotchas?
Do I give up now?
