Thanks for that. We've got round it by installing the printer locally (connected to LPT1:) then reconnecting to the network queue. -----Original Message----- From: Matthew Shrewsbury [mailto:MShrewsbury@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 13 December 2005 13:53 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Trouble printing across the network from HP T5700 XPe terminals Those HP clients use txt driver even if you select the correct printer driver on the device. You need to actually install the printer driver from the HP web site onto the T5700. I called HP about this a while back and they said that the drivers included on the T5700 mostly or all txt drivers to keep space restrictions down. They print perfectly to local printers but as soon as we try to print across the network to an LPD or TCP/IP print server (NT queue or JetDirect unit), prints come out in text mode. It's as if the terminal is determined to use the generic/text driver regardless of what we select and what is indicated in the print queue. The content of test pages confirms that, with a driver name of RASDD.DLL and a data file of TXTONLY.DLL. Can anyone suggest a reason for this? How do I convince my XPe terminals to use the proper driver for network printing?
