I'm afraid not. Simple .ica files straight in.
The client name isn't in the ica file eitehr ;-)

Are you connecting via NFuse? If so, the client name is set in the
template.ica file.

Paul

I haven't been able to make it change at all yet. I suppose I could
uninstall and reinstall the client and see what it does.

Can you make it change to something else?

Ie. change it so the session shows pcname SAUSAGES (my favourite testing
name)

If that works, then change it again to something else but this time use
regmon or filemon on the client to watch the change

John

My machine name is ANGUS
c:\wfcname.ini has it set as WT0018
In PN it's set to WT0019
The two registry values are both set to TOERAG for testing purposes

The client name in a citrix session is being detected as ANGUS, which is
what I happen to want but I don't like not knowing how things happen ;-)

Not sure, that was from our 7.10 PN deployment

Hmmm. I've set that value under HKCU and HKLM with no result. Does it
matter that we are currently on MF1.8 on NT4TSE? I'm using an old client
as well (910 or 986 I think).

Thanks for that. I don't have that value in my registry but I'll try it
and see what happens.

This is from our sms package that we use to deploy the client and rest
the clientname after a ghost

item: Get Registry Key Value
  Variable=COMPUTERNAME
  Key=SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ComputerName\ComputerName
  Value Name=ComputerName
  Flags=00000100
end
item: Remark
end
item: Edit Registry
  Total Keys=1
  Key=SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client
  New Value=%COMPUTERNAME%
  Value Name=ClientName
  Root=2
end

Where is the Citrix client name stored on a W2K or XP system? Coming
from the dark ages as I do, I've got used to looking in c:\wfcname.ini
but that isn't right now. Even the name I manually enter into program
neighborhood isn't being used.

So, can someone put me out of my misery?
Angus
