We use CE.Net clients where all that is required is a terminal with a
Windows desktop. As soon as any sort of equipment has to be plugged in as
well, XPe makes more sense.
We are starting to investigate using digital dictation machines and the
Citrix client on XPe is much more tweakable than the CE client, certainly as
far as audio settings are concerned.

Hey guys,
We are in the process of re-evaluating our thin client OS. Currently we run
CE.net on most of our thins. We are trying to determine whether or not we
should standardize on a different OS (Linux or XPe)
What do you guys see as the major differentiators between these 3 OS' on
thins in terms of performance, ease of use, manageability, working w/
drivers/hardware, etc...
We run 6 Citrix FR3 boxes now, but have a 2003 TS environment w/out Citrix
in the works as we speak. We are going to be using Biometric readers, and
proximity devices in this environment, as well as some wireless cards.

* XPe
