I've had to go with XPe thin clients as we have a number of remote offices without print servers. Without a print server I use IP based printing direct from the thin client to the printer. Of the Microsoft OSes only Windows XPe supports IP printing. If you plan to do IP printing you might want to consider XPe. Currently we run CE.net on most of our thins. We are trying to determine whether or not we should standardize on a different OS (Linux or XPe) What do you guys see as the major differentiators between these 3 OS' on thins in terms of performance, ease of use, manageability, working w/ drivers/hardware, etc... We run 6 Citrix FR3 boxes now, but have a 2003 TS environment w/out Citrix in the works as we speak. We are going to be using Biometric readers, and proximity devices in this environment, as well as some wireless cards. * Linux * CE or CE.net * XPe Thanks for your opinions in advance. _______________________________________________ Jon Luchette Emerson Hospital Technology Specialist III Work: 978-287-3369 Cell: 978-360-1379 jluchette@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx _______________________________________________
