Follow the steps below:=20
1. Go to Citrix Connection Configuration on each server in the farm.=20
2. Highlight the connection type you are working with.=20
3.      Click security > permissions.=20
4.      Add a user or group.=20
5. Highlight the user or group you added in the previous step.=20
6.      Click advanced.=20
7.      Double-click the user or group/ or click view > edit.=20
8. Add the permission to shadow.
At this point, select either of the methods below that you want the =
users to shadow with:
=B7     Publish Wshadow.exe for the shadow taskbar.=20
=B7 Publish Mfadmin.exe for the Citrix Server Administrator Tool for =
MetaFrame 1.8 servers.=20
=B7 Connect with or Publish the Citrix Management Console for MetaFrame =
XP servers. Note: MetaFrame XP Feature Release 2 allows granular =
policies, via the Citrix Management Console, to control shadowing.=20

Subject: [THIN] The system cannot log you on [52E]... when trying to
shadow a user

Hi all,

When I try to shadow a user (either from the shadow taskbar or the cmc) =
on=20
a citrix box or from a pc with cmc installed, I get the following error:

The system cannot log you on [52E]. Please try again or consult your =
system=20
administrator

The servers I'm working with are w2k sp3, metaframe xpa sp3 + fr2.
I had a look at the citrix support web site and found a document=20
(CTX980696) but it's of no help:
- I am running the latest sp for metaframe (sp3) (Maybe this is the =
cause?)
- No password has changed or expired during an ICA session (I couldn't =
find=20
Hotfix ME183T006 anyway)
- I couldn't find hotfix XE101W009 (which I think was a post sp1 hotfix=20
anyway, therefore was included in sp2 or sp3)

The citrix servers have been loaded a few months ago from scratch with =
w2k=20
sp3 and metaframe xpa fr3/sp3 but I set the servers to use fr2.

Can anyone think of what I'm doing wrong or what causes the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Cheers
Francois
