It's a bogus message. The driver is installed. I'm going to look into
the hot fixes next.

Hi Christine,

Thanks! So it sounds like you're still trying to use the universal
printer driver rather than installing the specific drivers to your
server. Is this a bogus message, or do you have the UPD installed?
Also, did you try any of the suggested hotfixes?

Eric

        Hello,

We are still in the testing phases. What I did was create a
printer policy using the "legacy client printers" "create old style
printers" Some can print, one person today could not. When looking at
the auto created printers on my 2003 servers, I get the following
message:

I see the driver installed in the server properties. Has anyone
seen this?

        Hi Christine,

I am having a similar problem and wanted to see if this advice
fixed yours. We were hoping to use the UPD to reduce our printer
administration in Citrix, but it appears that we may not be able to do
so. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Printing has improved in PS4, but unfortunately some
applications do not
support EMF printing, so printers that are created with
the new UPD will fail
to be seen by the application. I hav
                 e seen
                 this issue several times.
It's not a Citrix problem, but an application
development issue.

                You have two choices.
                1. Install the drivers for client printers on the Citrix
servers, or map them
all through to something simple and common such as the
HP LaserJet 4 driver.
                2. Import Network Print server(s) and use the Citrix
Policies to push out
Session Printers, setting these as the default printer.

                Cheers.

I have just built a new ps4 farm. Because of an
application we host, Facets, I
need to use the Universal print driver to map to
printers because this
                application only supports s
                 creen
prints. With our XPa fr3 farm, it works fine,
however it will not work with the PS4 farm. The
application cannot recognize
the default printer. Any idea's why? I thought
printing was supposed to be
                improved?
