Well, if you write a VC for it can't you turn it on and off somehow... I bet you could even write a hook into WI to turn it off via checkbox.... And if it was written via the login process then it could be done in the background... so not to slowdown the perception of performance... or it could be a simple sript the is run as a published app that copies the contents for you..... using something as simple as an xcopy or advanced as a GUI'ed app.... But then I'm so busy it would be hard for me to write it now but it would be fun... I tell you that much.... But your right.. it would be slow as the file VC is slooooowwwww...... but MPS4.0 will fix that, I hear.... ;) DB ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Matthew Shrewsbury Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 2:55 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Sync offline folders over ICA I would not want it connect directly to the logon process as on Citrix that is slow enough. Also I might just want to quickly logon to Citrix and check my email or use my accounting app without having a performance loss while my files sync. So I was thinking something like the Briefcase might be ideal as the user can sync when we wants to sync. Maybe we can call it the "Citrix Briefcase". Are you interested in using this yourself? I sure can't wait to hear the responses on this one... You could script it to run after login to MetaFrame and have it copy the info through the drive VC but I don't think that would be very articulate... A custom VC written to do that upon login would be cool.... I don't know what to say... I can't wait to see everyone's response. I hope I'm missing something or having a "case of the Mondays"... ;) DB ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Matthew Shrewsbury Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 2:15 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Sync offline folders over ICA Had anyone come up with an easy way to sync a home drive over ICA to a laptop user? I'd like for our laptop users to be able to work offline on word/excel and then when they log back into Citrix have to files automatically sync back to the network. Thanks for any suggestions!
