I set ours up using policies at the OU level. No real gotchas other than the ones typically associated with patching in general. I use only one WSUS sever. For the WAN sites, I just set a max bandwidth and set it to update in the evenings. In my reading of WSUS setup guide and browse thru operations guide appears have choice of using computer groups or using GP. Question is can I still make use of computer groups fully if setting up via GP? I suppose the other way to do this would be to link WSUS GP at OU levels which would be similar to computer groups. Basically would like ability to time when diff. groups of computers are being updated. A peek at deployment guide and looks like you can chain WSUS together which would help in WAN situations. Does that work well? Also important to ask what are the very basic pitfalls to avoid with any rollout of WSUS? About 200 desktops at head office and another 70 spread out over 4 far away remote sites _ other countries/continents.
