Speed increases, that's the main reason that HP comes out with new models so fast. They need to keep up with the Jones' . I wouldn't worry about Citrix compatibility much. I've used 2100's and 2200's with no issues, and people are using 2300's with no issues. I see no reason for the 2400 to all of a sudden not work. Same goes for the entire 4000 series, 4000, 4050, 4100, 4200, 4300 all fine. The new 4350 and 4250 should be just fine. The WORST thing about HP's new printer introductions is they discontinue manufacturing of the old model, and you can't get any of the new model for almost a solid month once they discontinue old manufacturing. I've had numerous instances when I needed a printer and the old model was out of stock and the new one not in stock yet. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Svein Arild Haugum Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 3:26 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] SV: Re: HP 2300 series replaced by 2400 series this is why i really hate hp printers. (still use them, so its my own fault). if you buy one, tests it and all ok, and you need a new in 2 weeks, HP takes pride in making new drivers and products with so you have to do it all over again... laserjets are sligtly better tha deskjets.... how much can change in a printer that makes this race justified? I have printers from 1997 (HP LJ 5) wich pretty much do the same job as the new ones. When they went from the 4000 to the 4100, we had to stock 2 different toners for people. It was a pain. It is one of the main reasons we started replacing H with Oki. The toner was cheaper to begin with and even if people have newer models of the same family, they all take the same toner.
