OK, before I add in the users that I want to access the pdf (and Flash) =
to
the HKYE_CLASSES_ROOT I want to see if I am looking at this correctly. =
If I
add them to the Key, then they will have permissions to run any file =
type
listed in the key? This includes any .exe ?=20
I ask because these are public users in a Library and we don't want them =
to
install anything.

Check the HKYE_CLASSES_ROOT.

This is where the file association is set.
By default normal users don't have write permissions.

Have you checked the permissions in the registry? =3D20

I'm having the same problem. Thus far I have found that if the user is a
"Power User" on the local machine that they can then open the pdf =3D3D
document however this isn't what I want to do for security. In my =
situation,
I am using a published IE application for the thin client only, so they =
do
=3D3D not have the option to open adobe first. It seems as though the =
users
don't have permissions to open an adobe =3D3D doc, as though they need =
to be
the ones to install Acrobat and then they have permissions.=3D3D20 =
Another
oddity that I noticed is that the users once having opened the =3D3D pdf =
doc,
and then being made a local user can then open up the Adobe docs, =3D3D =
but
only the ones they opened when in =3D the Power user mode. I've checked =
the
association and even tried given explicit permissions =3D =3D3D to the =
user on
the Acrobat file folder, but no luck. Any other suggestions out there?

Thanks
Ken

Feel like an Acrobat just getting it to work?

Association looks fine.
If I start Acrobat Reader first and then open the file from the File -> =
Open
menu, then it works fine.

I hate Acrobat!

Check the associations for the pdf type?

Should be something along the lines of "M:\program files\adobe\acrobat
6.0\=3D3D3D3D reader\acrord32.exe" "%1"

(hopefully the list wont screw that up too badly..!)

Hello, all.

I just installed Acrobat 6.0 reader on an NT 4 TSE, MetaFrame XP 1.0. I =
also
have Acrobat 4.0 Full Product. Now, when I try to open PDF files with =
the
6.0 Reader, I get the error:

Cannot find the file 'Name of the file' (or one of its components). Make
sure the path and filename are correct and that all libraries are =
available.

The file opens fine, but I cannot get rid of that annoying error. I've
used Regmon and Filemon, but I have not yet found the problem.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?
