Great. We're looking and focused on the acceleration portion so cost is a concern as well. Anyone have experience with Wyse's or Ericom's products as well? ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Nick Smith Sent: Friday, October 23, 2009 8:45 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: RDP Acceleration Experiences vWorkspace by Quest does the deal (With the Experience Optimization Pack), and a whole lot more. Nice responsive company, good tech support, but some features listed turn out to be not so great (EG You can install any scanner you like via USB...as long as it doesn't rely on TWAIN). In terms of what you're asking for, works nicely, much fewer end user complaints. It does in effect turn web pages etc into a jpeg as opposed to a bitmap so some sites can look a *little* crinkled. Unfortunately, the one this is most obvious with is Google, but we haven't had any actual complaints - if you have graphics professional as end users they would go bonkers though. It also handles printing *very* nicely, and granular publishing of apps. However, to use it fully it is a fair investment of time/effort. If you're trying to avoid the cost/complexity of Citrix, it looks to me (A non-Citrix person) a very good halfway house. We're just starting the process of review and I'm interested in anyone's opinion of solutions available today. Has anyone gone through the process and picked solutions that work well?
