We have seen exactly the same occurrences on our IMA Server. A reboot =
does
not refresh the list.=20

Have found the behaviour strange, but like everything else with =
Microsoft
(and maybe Citrix?) all seems to be held together by a piece of string
(registry!!!), my attitude is to ignore it as long as all users can get =
to
their appropriate printers and fix the issue when it becomes a problem.

Sorry to sound so cynical, but have had 5 years of it.

Sometimes that is what it takes. That is one of the reasons they put the
Refresh option in there. The Print driver thing is pretty intensive if
you can believe it. Lets say you have 200 or 300 print drivers on a
server when you install it. IT takes for ever for the MFPRINTSS.DLL to
load as an IMA service. This is because it is updating the DB with all
the drivers and looking for and adding any entries to the wtsprnt.inf.
Anyway This type of stuff makes it a bad idea for them to continually
update the DB with the driver list since it takes a lot of time with
large number of drivers to sort through the reg and look for new ones.

SO, generally not a big deal but I bet IMA re-start updates it.

As an FYI we have a set of servers with like 800 supported drivers and a
400 line mapping file. The install hangs that MFprintss.dll for like 30
or 40 minutes. If you ghost the box and the target machines are inserted
into the farm the first IMA service start takes like 10 minutes to
insert everything and all that.

Replication is good. BUT their queue is really limited for large farms
so be very careful with it.

Refreshes have no effect.

We have not tried to restart the ima service. Seems a little drastic to
get
some printers to show up.

Our servers will reboot on the weekend I will see if they show up then.

Even if you refresh the Printer and Driver info for that server in the
CMC,
or re-start the IMA service?

It does not show up in the CMC. It does so up on the servers Printer
driver
list (Start, Settings, Printers.....) And is usable on the server but
does
not show up in CMC as being installed on that specific server (s).

So are you saying the Driver doesn't show up in the CMC on the target
servers or in the Drivers list in the Printer's folder server
properties?

Here is the problem:

Select driver in CMC and replicate from a server to all the rest.

Says it sent it.

Check eventlogs on receiving servers and they have installed.

No sign of this in CMC. Still says the driver is only installed on
originating server.

Example driver: HP business Inkjet 2600 PCL 5c or PS.

Thanks for any help
