You can screw the terminals down to the desk but anything removable will walk occasionally. Couldn't you arrange to have files saved to a central location, then collected by the client? You wouldn't need to include floppies at all that way and people will be less likely to spend their quiet moments downloading rhino porn. A nice big notice pointing out that the terminals aren't PCs and won't work at home would help as well. Many of these are unmonitored and away from reference and circulation staff. Of course, being a PUBLIC library, means that we get some shady characters (and light fingered - can't even keep DVD's out on the floor anymore) in there. So, has anybody had luck making these theft proof or at least enough of a deterrent that they won't try? I'm worried about the thin-client and the USB floppy most (only had 1 incedence of mouse-ball stealing).
