Slightly sim ilar situation; we have some redundant PCs (Consdiered too old/slow for current software). Here's what we are doing; each PC autologns as TSUser (An AD user). TSUser has a logon script which calls the RDP client, with enough info in the command line to connect to the TS. The second line of the logon script (Which therefore activates at the end of the RDP session) shuts down the PC. You have to give the TSUser elevated lcoal rights, but works very nicely so far in tests. Any comments/stupidities? -----Original Message----- From: David Demers [mailto:david.demers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: 17 March 2004 19:08 To: Thin (E-mail) Subject: [THIN] PC semi-dumb terminal As a possible solution to a "political" situation in my workplace I'm = =3D looking into the possibility of using a dumbed down PC in a =3D predominantly thin-client Win2000/Citrix environment. I need the PC so = =3D that I can connect a PocketPC (USB cradle) to the PC and perform =3D activesync with the users Outlook. I plan on having the user working =3D primarily through a published desktop in the Citrix environment, and not =3D having any applications on the PC itself where I can help it. I know = I =3D could just install the basic OS and Outlook on the PC along with the ICA =3D client and achieve the functionality I'm looking for, but I'm hoping for =3D something more streamlined so the user has more of a "single-sign-on, =3D works like magic in the background" experience. I remember seeing =3D several packages for stripped down ICA clients using PC's.. but I =3D haven't played with any of them and don't know if they are what I'm =3D looking for. Anyone have configuration/application advise to offer? Thanks, David ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor Emergent Online.
