Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on a little problem I'm having with Outlook 2003 and the contacts folder. I can't seem to find anything about it on the MS KB or the thin.net archives. In outlook when you view the properties for your contacts folder there is an option to tick called "show this folder in outlook address book" (or similar text) in our environment this is greyed out. Out environment is Win2K3 AD with GPO controlling what users can do, with Metaframe XPe FR3 running on Win2K3 publishing Office 2003 SP1 standard apps. I've had a poke around in the GPO's and can't see anything obvious (or obtuse for that matter) that would be causing this. Does anyone know if it's an Exchange setting? Also, on what could be a related issue, users can't open vcards sent to them in Outlook 2003 but if they save the attachment and open it in notepad it opens fine. The behaviour is very similar to the old outlook attachment failing to open issue where users didn't have rights to the temp dir, which they do in this case as we're using per user temp dirs located in their profile.
